Frequently asked questions

A wedding is one of the biggest days of your life and you may (very understandably!) have a lot of questions on your mind. I’ve shot hundreds  of weddings and elopements and I’ve put together the most frequently asked questions.

Get in touch if you have anything else you’d like to chat about. I’m here to help.

How many hours should we book?

My packages are tailored for intimate weddings and elopements, and I specialise in keeping wedding photography to three hours or less – which, in my experience, is the perfect amount of time to capture all of the meaningful moments of your day.

The photography will be less intrusive this way, so you’re free to relax and enjoy the day without having a camera around all the time. As a rough guide, here are some suggestions:

One hour: Best for intimate weddings and elopements. Just you, your partner and your witnesses on a windswept beach, among the trees, in the marriage registry – anywhere you can imagine saying your vows.

Two hours: Ideal for small family weddings, backyard ceremonies or simple parties with your favourite people around you! Two hours is perfect to beautifully capture all the love, hugs, laughs and family portraits on camera.

Three hours: For larger wedding parties of around 50 people, a  three hour package is the perfect amount of time to capture the happy moments of the ceremony, the portraits, and all of your special guests.

I also offer a 4th hour as an added option.

What is your style?

My approach is very calm, relaxed and easy. I let things happen naturally, taking a loosely styled approach: bringing a subject into the best light or setting to capture relaxed, authentic moments.

Are you experienced?

I’m a highly experienced, professional photographer who specialises in documenting intimate wedding photography in Perth. I’ve been doing photography for 15 years, first starting as a family portrait photographer ( I love children) and over the last seven years I’ve shot hundreds of weddings and elopements.

I take immense pride in my work as a Perth wedding photographer and I strive to always deliver images that my clients will love and treasure.

(Hear the love from clients in my testimonials).

How do we explain what we want?

I love a chat on the phone and you’re always welcome to call or email to help me understand exactly what you’re envisioning for your wedding day. As your wedding photographer, I’m very happy to listen to your suggestions and get ideas from you to understand your vision and capture your day the way you imagine it.

I’m nervous about having photos taken - can you help me?

Definitely – I’ll give you some simple tips to help you feel totally relaxed and comfortable. My mission is to make sure everyone looks effortlessly beautiful in their wedding photos. There will be tons of candid moments captured too, which are often the favourites.

When is the best time to have wedding photos?

If you’re looking for soft, golden light, the end of the day is usually best. However, if your wedding is earlier in the day, we’ll find a perfect spot where the light falls gently to make soft, evocative pictures. Being a wedding photographer in Perth means that beautiful backgrounds are easy to find too :-)

Do you edit your images?

Like most professional photographers, I shoot in camera RAW, which means that I must edit all your images. My preferred style of editing is light and natural, so the images you get look clean, elegant and timeless.

What equipment do you use?

I always have two cameras and a range of lenses with me. I prefer natural and available light but have lighting if necessary.

When will we receive our wedding photos?

I’m used to working to tight time frames and will get your images to you within 2 weeks. I always send a few photos by text the day after your wedding, for easy sharing. If you’re flying out of Perth soon after the wedding, don't worry – I’ll have everything ready for you to take home.

Do we get an album?

Yes – I offer beautiful, simple cream linen albums that showcase your best photos. Albums are included in each of my wedding photography packages, as I love printed images that will last a lifetime.

Are there costs after the wedding?

All costs are listed on my website – there are no hidden or additional costs.

What’s the first step?

Get in touch so we can discuss availability and all the details on your wedding day.

"Anthea made our wedding day even more special -  it felt like we had a member of our inner circle behind the camera. We gave minimal direction and just let her do her thing, which in turn has given us the most amazing photos that truly represent us as a couple. We cannot recommend Anthea enough!"
